Welcome to Fairfax Station
Fairfax Station is a neighborhood located in Fairfax County, Virginia. Our Northern Virginia community is made up of 539 single family homes, situated on cul-de-sacs, common drives, and quiet dead-end streets, with rolling hills, a park, a pond, and areas of large trees throughout.
Located adjacent to the intersections of Ox Road (Route 123) and Burke Center Parkway, development began in the late 1970’s and was completed in the mid-1980’s. Our name comes from the nearby Fairfax Station Railroad Depot, which was built by Irish immigrants in the 1850’s and which once served as the county seat of Fairfax. The Station was a focal point during the Civil War where thousands of soldiers wounded at the Battles of Second Manassas, Ox Hill, and Chantilly, were tended to by Clara Barton before being sent by rail to Alexandria and Washington hospitals.
The education system in Fairfax County is among the top public school systems in the country. The children of Fairfax Station attend Oak View Elementary School and James W. Robinson Jr. Secondary School.
The neighborhood has a Homeowners Association, as required by the State of Virginia. The Fairfax Station Homeowners Association (FSHOA) is overseen by a Board of homeowner volunteers, with some functions sourced to third parties. Not only does this structure limit significantly the cost of operating the HOA but also ensures a more personal approach to managing the business of the Association
Located within the neighborhood is the Fairfax Station Swim & Tennis Club. Although not affiliated with the HOA, this organization offers excellent and convenient facilities to residents.
The neighborhood has easy access to major commuting routes and public rail transportation, whether headed to the many Northern Virginia or Maryland major employment centers, the Pentagon, or Washington, D.C.
